![]() "Jerusalem Cross" The Jerusalem Cross was the holy cross of the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem. This authentic design was recreated to exactly match the ancient original and was hand carved from mammoth ivory to be worn as both a symbol of faith and piece of world history. The ivory represents the purity of faith. The precious natural ruby at its center signifies the blood of Christ. The large cross is enhanced by four smaller crosses at the corners, symbolizing the four books of the Gospel and the four directions to which the gospel spread from Jerusalem. The scrimshaw square around the ruby marks the four corners of the earth. The hand crafted scrimshaw lettering, INRI, is the Latin abbreviation for "IESVS NAZARENVS REX IVDAEORVM." The inscription is revealed in the Gospel of John (19:1920): "And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, 'Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews.'" Chain and findings are solid sterling silver.
